From a quick VLC test to a full TV guide.

A computer is a handy second screen for IPTV, and a good place to test a login before setting up the TV. Windows gives you several options, from instant to full-featured.

The four options

VLC

Open VLC, choose Media, Open Network Stream, paste your M3U link and press Play. The playlist appears in View, Playlist. There is no guide, but it proves your login works.

MyIPTV Player

  1. Install it from the Microsoft Store.
  2. In Settings, add a new remote channel list: paste the M3U link.
  3. Add the EPG link from your Viking IPTV email under EPG source.
  4. Select the playlist and reload.

IPTV Smarters

Download the Windows version from the Smarters website, open it and choose Xtream Codes. Same login as on your other devices.

Kodi

See our Kodi guide. It takes longer to set up but gives you a full-screen guide controllable with a remote.

Getting a smooth stream on a laptop

Laptops roam between Wi-Fi bands and power-save their network cards. Plug the charger in, choose the best performance power mode, and if possible use a USB Ethernet adapter. Close cloud sync apps while watching.
