If your TV runs Android TV or Google TV (common on Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips and many others), you have the most flexible IPTV platform there is. Google Play carries all the major players, there is no sideloading needed for most of them, and the TV behaves just like an Android streaming box.
Five steps
- Open Google Play on the TV (on Google TV, search from the Apps tab).
- Install TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro or OTT Navigator.
- Open the app and choose the Xtream Codes option.
- Type the server, username and password from your Viking IPTV welcome email.
- Let the channels and TV guide load, then favourite the channels you use.

Make it feel like real TV
- In TiviMate, set Start on boot so the TV opens straight into live channels.
- Use the TV's own input settings to hide unused HDMI inputs and apps.
- Turn off "match frame rate" if channels flicker when you switch, or turn it on if sport looks juddery; TVs differ.
Google TV specifics
Google TV sometimes hides apps that are not "recommended". Your player stays installed under Apps, Your apps; drag it to favourites. Also check Settings, Privacy, Ads if the home screen feels cluttered.
An Android TV set has less memory than a good streaming box. If the guide feels slow, reduce EPG days to three and hide channel groups you never open.
