IBO Player is popular because it runs on Samsung and LG TVs as well as Android devices. It works differently from Smarters or TiviMate: you do not type your login into the TV. Instead, you add your playlist on the IBO Player website, and the TV picks it up.
How it works
Every TV running IBO Player gets a MAC address and device key, shown when you open the app. On the website you enter those two codes and attach your playlist. The app then downloads it.
Step by step
- Install IBO Player from your TV's app store and open it.
- Write down the MAC and device key.
- On a phone or computer, open the official IBO Player website and its "manage playlist" page.
- Enter the MAC and device key, then add a playlist: either Xtream (server, username, password) or the M3U link from Viking IPTV.
- Save. On the TV, restart the app or use the refresh option.
The activation fee
IBO Player starts with a trial period (usually a week). After that, the app maker charges a one-time activation for that TV. This is separate from your IPTV subscription and paid on IBO's website.
IBO Player vs IBO Player Pro
They are separate apps by different developers with similar names. Both use MAC-based activation; menus differ. Check which one you installed before you pay.
