Smart STB is a smart TV app that behaves like a MAG set-top box. Instead of a username and password, it uses a **portal URL** and the TV's MAC address. If you like the MAG interface or your provider gives you a portal, it is a neat way to skip the extra box.

## How it works

- Install Smart STB from the Samsung or LG store and open it. It shows a MAC address.
- Send that MAC to your provider so it can be activated, or use the MAC your provider assigns.
- In Smart STB, open **Settings, Portals** and enter the portal URL.
- Save and restart. The familiar MAG menu loads.

## The app subscription

Smart STB charges its own subscription after a trial, paid to its developer. It is separate from your IPTV plan.
