# IPTV plan length: 1, 3, 6, 12 or 24 months?

> Which IPTV plan length to buy: monthly vs yearly cost, when 24 months makes sense, and what 92 provider price lists reveal about savings and risk.

Almost every store in our directory sells the same plan lengths at almost the same prices. The ladder below is the one 67 of 92 stores use, for one device. The question is not which plan is cheapest per month, but which one you are confident will still be worth it at the end.

## The typical price ladder

Plan | Price | Per month | Risk if the store disappears |

1 month | $14.95 | $14.95 | Lowest |

3 months | $29.95 | $9.98 | Low |

6 months | $44.95 | $7.49 | Medium |

12 months | $59.95 | $5.00 | Higher |

24 months | $99.95 | $4.16 | Highest |

67 of 92 stores offer the 24 month plan; the rest stop at 12 months.

## The maths, and the catch

Twelve monthly payments cost about $179 against $59.95 for a 12 month plan, so the long plan saves roughly two thirds. The catch is that you pay it all up front. In our checks, 4 of 96 provider sites had disappeared or changed hands; a long plan bought from one of those would have been lost.

## A simple rule

- First purchase from any store: 1 month.
- If the month went well, including a big live event: 12 months.
- If you have used the store for a year without problems: consider 24 months.

## Screens change the maths

67 stores sell 2 and 3 device versions. A 2 device plan usually costs much less than two separate subscriptions, so households watching in two rooms should compare those first.

## Renewing well

- Renew from your own bookmark, not from a search result.
- Ask support to add time to your existing login so favourites stay.
- Renewal is a good moment to move to a longer plan, once the store has proven itself.

## Questions

**Is a 12 month IPTV plan worth it?**

Yes, after a successful month of testing: it costs about a third of paying monthly for a year.

**Should I buy 24 months straight away?**

No. Only after you have used the same store for a while, because the whole amount is paid up front.

**Why do so many stores have the same prices?**

Many share templates and suppliers; 67 of 92 stores in our directory list the same ladder.
