# MAG box IPTV setup

> Set up IPTV on a MAG 322, 324, 520 or 540 box: find the MAC address, add the portal URL, and fix "authorization failed" and loading loops.

MAG boxes (made by Infomir) work differently from apps: instead of a username and password, the box is identified by its **MAC address**, and it loads a **portal** your provider gives you. It is a simple, remote-friendly experience once it is running.

## What you need

- The MAC address printed under the box (it starts 00:1A:79).
- The portal URL from your provider. With Viking IPTV you send the MAC, and the portal address comes in your welcome email.

## Adding the portal

- Switch on the box and wait for the main screen.
- Go to **Settings, System settings, Servers, Portals**.
- In **Portal 1 name** type anything (for example "Viking"), and in **Portal 1 URL** type the portal address exactly.
- Press OK to save, go back and choose **Restart portal**.

The box loads the portal and shows the channel list. First load can take a minute while the guide downloads.

## Common messages

Message | Meaning | Fix | 
Authorization failed / STB blocked | The MAC is not activated, or was typed wrongly | Check the MAC you sent matches the sticker | 
Loading portal... never finishes | Wrong URL or no internet | Re-type the URL; test the network in Settings | 
Black screen with sound | Codec or stream issue | Try another channel; update the box firmware | 
Time and guide wrong | Time zone | Settings, System settings, Time zone | 

## Tips

- Update the firmware from **Settings, Software update** when the box offers it.
- Portal 2 lets you keep a backup portal from the same provider.

The MAC address works like a password. Keep it private, and never post a photo of the sticker.

**Where is the MAC address on a MAG box?**

On the sticker under the box, starting with 00:1A:79. It is also under Settings, System information.

**Why does my MAG box say authorization failed?**

The MAC is not activated for that portal or was copied wrongly. Check it against the sticker.

**Can I use an Xtream login on a MAG box?**

Not in the stock portal menu. MAG boxes use a portal URL activated for their MAC.
