# IPTV for expats

> How expats use IPTV to watch channels from home: choosing a service, devices to bring, time zones, and avoiding common mistakes abroad.

Moving abroad usually means losing your home channels. IPTV brings them back on any device with internet.

## Before you move

- Choose a service that works abroad. Viking IPTV has no IP restrictions.
- Bring or buy a streaming stick that works with the local TV (HDMI is universal).
- Note that your home ISP's own TV app usually stops working abroad.

## Settling in

- Get stable internet first; a mobile hotspot is fine for a week, not for months.
- Set the device to your new time zone; the guide converts times.
- Build a favourites list of home channels.
