> How to buy an IPTV subscription: choose the right IPTV service, compare prices, test with 1 month, then save up to 72% on a long plan.

Dozens of IPTV stores sell almost the same plans at almost the same prices; in our own check, around 60 of 92 storefronts even share one page template. The difference between a good and a bad experience is whether you matched the service to the way you watch and tested it before committing.

## 1. Decide what you actually watch

Write down the ten channels and five shows you would miss most. That list, not a headline channel count, decides which provider fits:

- **Live sport on a big TV:** 4K-focused providers such as [4K Live IPTV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/4k-live-iptv-store/), [4KIPTVSPOT](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/4k-iptv-spot-store/), [EagleCast TV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/eaglecast-tv/).
- **Films and series:** all-round services with large on-demand libraries such as [Alia IPTV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/alia-iptv/), [Aroma IPTV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/aroma-iptv/), [AWKNG TV IPTV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/awakening-tv-iptv/).

- **One country's channels:** regional services such as [Hoxy TV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/hoxy-tv/), [IPTV Toronto HD](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/iptv-toronto-hd/), [IPTV USA Official](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/iptv-usa/).
- **A family home:** [Agora Stream IPTV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/agora-stream-iptv/), [Bunny Stream IPTV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/bunny-stream-iptv/), or multi-device services such as [Viking IPTV Official](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/viking-iptv/), [AxosCast IPTV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/axos-cast-iptv/).
- **First time with IPTV:** [Done IPTV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/done-iptv/), [Eternal TV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/eternal-tv/), [Expedite TV](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/expedite-tv/).

## 2. Check the store is real and current

In our [latest provider check](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/iptv-provider-list-update/), 4 of 96 sites had died, expired or been taken over by an unrelated site. Before paying:

- Type the address yourself or use a checked list such as our [provider directory](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/best-iptv-providers/).
- Watch for look-alike names: several brands exist twice under different owners (see [similar-name stores](https://blog.vikingiptvofficial.com/similar-name-iptv-stores/)).
- Send a pre-sales question and time the reply. It is the best preview of after-sales support.

## 3. Buy the shortest plan first

Across our directory the ladder is remarkably consistent: about **$14.95** for 1 month, **$29.95** for 3, **$44.95** for 6, **$59.95** for 12 and, where offered, **$99.95** for 24 months. The long plans are tempting at $5.00 and $4.16 a month, but they only save money if the service is still right for you in a year. Pay the higher monthly price once; one month tells you everything.

## 4. Test the right things in week one

- Your ten must-have channels, at the times you normally watch.
- One big live event at peak time (a weekend evening match is ideal).
- The TV guide: complete, and in your time zone?
- Five films and one full series from the library.
- Every device you plan to use, two at once if you bought two connections.

## 5. Fix your own setup before blaming the provider

Most buffering starts at home. Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, restart the router and streaming box, and use a proper player (IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate or IBO Player) with an Xtream Codes login rather than a raw M3U link. If streams only fail in the evening, your internet provider may be throttling them; a VPN is the usual fix.

## 6. Commit, and keep your details together

If month one passes, move to 12 or 24 months in the same store. Keep the order email, login details and the store's exact domain together for renewals, new devices and support.

## IPTV buying FAQ

**What is the best IPTV provider?**

There is no single best provider for everyone. Pick by what you watch most (4K sport, films, regional channels, a family home), test with a 1 month plan, then commit to 12 or 24 months.

**How much should an IPTV subscription cost?**

Most providers in our directory charge about $14.95 for one month and $59.95 for twelve months; some offer 24 months for about $99.95 (around $4.16 a month).

**Do I need a VPN for IPTV?**

Not always. A VPN helps when your internet provider slows IPTV traffic in the evening or a hotel or mobile network blocks streams. Try without one first.

**Which app should I use for IPTV?**

IPTV Smarters Pro works on almost every device and is the safest start. TiviMate is the favourite on Android TV and Fire TV; IBO Player is popular on smart TVs.
